Prayer Requests
Pray for our family (Junia, Enzo and I) as we continue to learn how to adapt and enjoy this season - the lockdown in the UK has been extended for another 3 weeks at least.
Pray for our church as we have seen high numbers of social media engagement, including with our Sunday services - and a lot of these people are coming in contact with City Church for the first time and some even with church at all!
Stories of Encouragement
"In a way I'm really really glad we're in this lockdown. It's really brought people together. For me, I think of my connection with some of the student girls and some of the new students that I didn't have before. To see everyone coming to our daily sessions and to our games nights... It's doing great things for the community. It gives you an opportunity to design new studies as you want and it's working. Today was a great session covering the core principles of relational evangelism. I think people were really engaging with it and were excited from it and we took a lot from it. Clearly God is working in the students and we're blending as one to deal with this difficult time. I'm loving it.
In terms of my own walk, I'm loving it. I'm really engaging in the Word. I've got off this fear of not understanding and I'm just throwing myself into the Bible. I feel really at one with God, I really feel Him working. The one thing for me that is crazy is that as soon as you start reading the Bible everything else falls into place. Suddenly, you want to pray. It's not like you pray because it's a routine; you want to pray. God is working in you and He makes you want to be relational with Him. And then you become more intentional with people around you as a result of reading the Bible. It's just central to everything and it's all coming into place now. It makes me regret not engaging in it more. But I'm absolutely loving my time right now.” - A student leader in Manchester
