Pray for Lusaka, Zambia

In 2017, CO Johannesburg launched a long-term Campus Outreach team in Lusaka, Zambia. The team has a strong partnership with Kabwata Baptist Church. The vision for the ministry is to see the local church empowered by young, gospel-centered leaders so that all of Zambia may become a launching pad for reaching the nations of Africa and beyond.

The new school year and the first Braai (Cookout) on March 8th!
300 student names were collected during orientation week. Everyone was contacted and invited to the Braai along with the initial friend-making conversations and hangouts. During the Braai, the Christians connected with students. In small groups, they were introduced to the ministry, invited to the weekly meetings, and heard the Gospel. There were about 150 students at the braai, and the guests were all very engaged!
50 students came to the first weekly meeting. Praise God for the success of this meeting.
The partnership to be healthy and growing between the campus ministry and the church members.
For the 60+ student leaders to faithfully walk with God and give their lives away for the sake of Christ and the gospel.
God will empower these Christian students to proclaim Jesus as Savior and Lord boldly.
Many students claim to be Christians; pray that many will come to trust in Jesus this new school year!
Pray for the staff…
That God would give them development in new relationships with students and deepen current relationships.
That God would use them as they read the Bible with other students, and He would open up the hearts of students to hear the word of Truth in the Scripture.
That God would make them bold in their faith and deepen their intimacy with their Heavenly Father, and then bear much fruit through them.
That God would give continued favor with the many relationships we have with campus administrators; and opportunities to care for students both through practical help and spiritual assistance.
The CO Lusaka team is preparing to host 2 CCPs from the U.S. One from CO D.C. and one from CO Memphis. Pray for the Staff and the church as they plan for and lead this big ministry season with these additional laborers over the next few months. Pray God works in the hearts of Zambians, and He will also give these American college students a desire for long-term missions.

Niai and the Byrd children as they spend the next 10 weeks finishing the school year 2023-2024.
The Staff and student leaders will boldly share the Gospel with first-years, and they will come to faith!
Pray for the students…
That God would grow in the believers, a vision for the lost to know Jesus.
That God would build up the student leaders to take the gospel to their lost friends.
That God will grow the seed of the gospel in non-believers' hearts.
That He would reveal His Truth to them in His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.
