Pray for Belo Horizonte, Brazil

CO Belo Horizonte was established in 1997 in partnership with Communidade Horizonte church to reach the next generation of Brazilian students. While 65% of Brazil’s population identifies as Catholic, the campus is very secular, with much cultural resistance to the evangelical church. In Brazil, campus ministries are few, making the need for genuine relationships and life-on-life discipleship even more significant in this highly relational culture.
Pray for the location…
The first event of the semester was tonight, Friday (March 15th). Pray that students will experience the love of Christ and that God will give them the desire to take the next step on their journey to follow Jesus.
Pray for conversations about their spiritual beliefs, opportunities to challenge their beliefs, and many deciding to investigate Jesus.
In Brazilian culture, syncretism is prevalent. Pray students will open up about their life experiences, and Staff will better understand how these experiences have shaped their multiple and unique beliefs.
This semester is a crucial moment in the campus ministry. The team has built lots of relationships with students, and they have built trust. Pray for these relationships as they boldly invite 16 students to participate in a study about the person of Jesus.
Pray that God would give them favor with these 16 students, cause the students to agree to the study, Jesus would become real and appealing to them, and the Holy Spirit would change hearts and draw people to Jesus.
Pray for the CCP season May-July…
Meet large numbers of students on campus, freshmen in particular.
There is an exponential increase in the number of spiritual conversations, fostering greater spiritual interest and more students willing to investigate Jesus.
See students who become engaged in discussion groups and investigative Bible studies come to Christ.
Future long-term missionaries be called from the CCP group that is coming in a few weeks for 2 months.
Pray for the staff…
Staff will be used to bless these lost and broken students.
Seek to be led by the Holy Spirit and share the gospel boldly so that these men and women will know Jesus.
Unified in the work and cultivating the ideal conditions for spiritual fruit.
Actively wait for the Lord to work in students' lives.
In planning for the time with the CCP. Pray that God would give them wisdom, establish their plans, and prepare the American students who will come for their cross-cultural experience.
Brazilian staff's families to be saved!
Braden still hasn't been issued his driver's license. Pray that the consulate would process his documents quickly.
Pray for the students…
That God would grow in the believers, a vision for the lost to know Jesus.
That God would build up the student leaders to take the Gospel to their lost friends.
That God will grow the seed of the gospel in non-believers' hearts.
That He would reveal His Truth to them in His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.
