 Project FORGE is
a partnership effort among The United States Department of
Agriculture (USDA), The University of Texas - Pan American
(UTPA), and several other organizations, including:
- The Texas/Mexico Border Coalition
- New Mexico State University
- Heifer International
- Rural Schools & Community Centers
- Resource Conservative & Development (RC&D)
- Cooperative Extension
These organizations work together to provide rural South
Texas with farm, ranch, and other business technical
assistance and support.
Project FORGE seeks to improve the quality of life in rural
South Texas. FORGE encourages & assists small farmers &
ranchers -particularly Hispanic operators- to own and
operate farms & ranches, and to help them be successful
through participation in USDA rural & agricultural programs.
