The South Texas MBOC sponsors a trade mission each year to an international market in order to increase sales for South Texas exporters. This past year's destination was Monterrey, Mexico, one of the leading industrial centers for Latin America. The U.S. Foreign Commercial Service Office in Monterrey pre-qualified all participants and matched them with potential customers, distributors, or suppliers. South Texas MBOC staff recruited area businesses and conducted a series of exporting training seminars in preparation for the trade mission.

The International Trade Committee has selected Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico as the destination for the trade mission planned in Year 2001.
