County Facts

Location: South Texas Rio Grande Valley. Bounded by: Starr County to the west, Jim Hogg and Brooks counties to the north, Kennedy, Willacy and Cameron counties to the east, and the Rio Grande River to the south. Hidalgo County comprises the entire McAllen-Edinburg-Mission Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). During the last decade, Hidalgo County exhibited the fourth-fastest rate of population growth among all US metropolitan areas.
