Objective: To implement a comprehensive community
outreach campaign to provide direct client support through the
development of family action plans and social service referrals.

The Hidalgo County Subzone of the Rio Grande Valley
Empowerment Zone is the initial target area for this project.
The target area includes 3 major communities and over 20
colonias.
Services include:
- Family assessments to determine housing and other family
needs.
- Referrals to social service agencies.
- Development of action plans intended to help families
achieve short and long-term goals. Family action plans may
include items such as budgeting, debt repayment or savings
strategies.
